Perspective
« on: March 29, 2012, 07:31:38 AM »
At the end of a rather tense telephone conversation with my younger sister Julie, after I tried to raise the topic of our dead sister Lesley with her, Julie said to me: "I think you are dwelling too much on this. Perhaps you should see a concellor and get some perspective on your grief." I hung up on her. I was seething!!!Dwelling to much on this' - ?! Who is 'this'? Does Lesley have a new name now?! Perspective, eh? Here's my 'perspective' then:

PERSPECTIVE

Perspective perches precariously on prickly precipices,
Pugnacious perpretrator putting pinpricks in my plan.
Placing a placid, pithy and polemic platitude over my plight,
Perspective then, pooh-poohs my potent problem.

Prodigal prophesier: produce proof of your promise!
As you promote, promulgate and pronounce pat, prosy prognosis.
This puerile old prune purges such pungent pundits,
My punishment then, precludes prayer and potential pilgrimage.

My perspective: pinioned and piteously pounded into powder,
A plague placed, pied-piper-like, upon my psyche.
Phony philosophies punched panic into my paranoid brian,
Penetrating a peevish ponderation and palsied penitence.

Your perspective: pretty placebos partially pocketed,
Promotes plebian pleasures playing properly and proposing plenty.
You pronounce: "Proud preparedness preludes profitable progress!"
And: "Procrastination produces a propensity to prevent perspective!"

Pity not this pock-marked and primarily purulent pupil,
Push this pusillanimous puppet into portals of pitch.
Your pugnacious perseverance proves a peculiar pivot,
Permeating my perceptions and pulling this patsy ponderously along.

Pray do postulate, sister, on the pathos of my pathology,
And pace the parallel planes of plausible psychosis,
While the pen poses its prerequisite position over the proverbial prescription,
A supposed psychiatrist ponders the pun.

Prodigal prophesier: produce proof of your promise!
As you promote, promulgate and pronounce pat, prosy prognosis.
This puerile old prune purges such pungent pundits,
My punishment then, precludes prayer and pilgrimage.
My punishment then, precludes prayer and pilgrimage.

Love from Helene.
