Annie,
Although I've already expressed my relief and happiness to you, I remain very discouraged with the level of compassion that our health care professionals display. This particular doctor didn't even speak with you, rather had a nurse hand you a piece of paper with this devastating information on it. I know what you went through, and it was awful and it was also, unnecessary. I shared some years back that I was diagnosed with Leukemia and I had all of the classic symptoms and the blood work also showed it. The second batch, also showed it. Long story short and three doctors later as this time I sought out a specialist at Shands, which is a teaching hospital...the tests showed that I did NOT have it.
This also brings to mind the number of people falsely diagnosed, back in the late 70's and 80's as being HIV Positive and a percentage of them who took their lives. (It is heartbreaking)
We should all remember this and never place our faith, blindly in any one doctor (health care professional) and to also seek a second and even a third opinion, as I had done.
This is our life. And, we only get one.
SO happy for you, sweet Annie!!!!
My Love,
Terry
