I have good news!
« on: March 17, 2012, 01:08:46 PM »
I don't have cancer!
I really didn't like the way I was being treated by Dr. Kims staff, so I went to the office, picked up all my paperwork and test results and went to Loma Linda University medical Center in Murrieta.
Within 10 minutes of arriving there, I was seen by Dr. Bismark Oh (isn't that the coolest name ever) he sat down, listened to my concerns, told me he was there to answer my questions and address my fears. He ordered the MRI I wanted, did a new ultrasound, and told me there is no tangerine sized mass on my ovary. They did a urine test, I found out I do have a hellacious bladder infection which Dr. Oh prescribed an antibiotic for, when I left that hospital, I felt 100 pounds lighter.
Dr Oh said I had been treated with a great lack of professionalism, he told me that any time I had questions to not hesitate to come back to the hospital, that any doctor there would treat me with dignity and respect.
Personally I believe it was the thoughts and prayers of everyone that led me to Loma Linda.
I really can't thank you enough.
Much love,
Annie (Dans mom)

Annie,
Although I've already expressed my relief and happiness to you, I remain very discouraged with the level of compassion that our health care professionals display. This particular doctor didn't even speak with you, rather had a nurse hand you a piece of paper with this devastating information on it. I know what you went through, and it was awful and it was also, unnecessary. I shared some years back that I was diagnosed with Leukemia and I had all of the classic symptoms and the blood work also showed it. The second batch, also showed it. Long story short and three doctors later as this time I sought out a specialist at Shands, which is a teaching hospital...the tests showed that I did NOT have it.

This also brings to mind the number of people falsely diagnosed, back in the late 70's and 80's as being HIV Positive and a percentage of them who took their lives. (It is heartbreaking)

We should all remember this and never place our faith, blindly in any one doctor (health care professional) and to also seek a second and even a third opinion, as I had done.

This is our life. And, we only get one.

SO happy for you, sweet Annie!!!!

My Love,
Terry

What great news!!

And congrats on "taking charge" of your treatment, and finding what you needed.
