Heavens just a breath away

As some of you know I lost a very close friend of mine July 1, 2008 and am having a difficult time... I am realizing how short life is... and we never know how long anyone is going to be here or how long we are going to be here... I think its important that we love deeply, laugh lots, and live like every day may be our last... Its hard to do now but I know Patrick wouldn't want my life to stop just because he was here to physically share with me... as all of you I have my bad days and my good... but I have been posting on other sites to and someone posted this poem that I think is a great poem... it moved me and I hope it does the same for you



Heaven's Just a Breath Away

Live life to its fullest
You never know when it might end
Spread a little bit of sunshine
And always be a friend.

Be kind to those around you
Your smile could be their last
Today could be tomorrow's memory
And we can't undo the past.

This life we've been given is so precious
We may not have a second chance
Yes live like you are dying
Embrace life with a fierce romance.

And if tomorrow brings you sadness
There will be no regrets for today
Yes, Live like you are dying
Cause Heaven's just a breath away.

Jes.  That is such a beautiful poem, it touched my heart.  Thank you.
I am new to this group, and will start to find my way around.

Grief is such a personal experience, and it can come back and just torpedo you many years after the event, although perhaps not with the same vehemence as in the early days. 

I miss my Dad so much.  He died in 1989, and yet not a day passes but I think of him, indeed feel his presence.  He was a great person, loved by all, and my great sorrow is that in his life I did not spend enough time with him.  He died very suddenly, just days after I had gone away after a holiday at home.

jes.... i just cant explain how much the poem has moved me ...it is so beautiful..i loved it
the thought of loosing someone or loosing ur own life  is so scary and true...u never know where one wil b tomorrow... but to live life to its fullest is only thing one can do
