« on: February 05, 2008, 06:38:06 PM »
In my previous post I mentioned I am having trouble remembering the good times and memories with Chad and my boys, seems I am numb in my head lately. Sure love reading those good times with our kids if anyone has a good story to share.

Love
Deb

LOL... thank you for sharing these stories, you can tell looking at Landon he was a little stinker, fun little stinker.

These are the precious memories I just love to read about. Can see the look on Landon's face and those boys laughing, I am sure there was many paybacks done by Landon.

Practical joksters so many of our kids were, just imaging that continues in heaven... I sure hope so.

Missing my boys with you,

Love
Deb

Charlie is our oldest and his brother Patrick was born when he was 3. They were best buddies. When we got pregnant with our third, Charlie said, "Mom do you think it might be a girl?" I told him I wasnt sure but we would wait and see. After going overdue they sent me for a nonstress test and ultrasound while Charlie and Patrick waited at their Poppy and Gmas hubby and I found out it was indeed a girl. Then to top it all off our Emma was born 2 days before Charlies 10th Birthday. I had her in a birthing center and about 5 minutes after she was born my boys came into to meet their new sister. Charlie came running jumped onto the bed, took one look at his sister and started to cry. I asked him, "Whats wrong Bud?" He looked at me and said, "Mom I love her so much its the best birthday present ever." Then him and Patrick sat holding their new baby sister for almost 2 hours. I cherish those memories and tell those stories to Emma because she was only 8 months old when her Charlie died. Our Little man Brayden never even got to meet his big brother, but there is so much Charlie in him!!!Patrick has stepped up and taken over where our Charlie left off and I know Charlie would be so proud of his best buddy!

Oh Deb, sometimes I think we are so afraid of forgetting. I think the hurt gets in the way and we feel as if we're going to forget the wonderful memories.
I remember when Andrea was 15 and late for school. It was while we were on our way to school that she all of a sudden said "Oh shoot mom! Now I'm going to have to stay in time out for the whole first period. How bout we just ride around and kill time before I get there?" We both laughed and agreed. There was a boy she had a crush on, so we drove by his house. She just wanted to look at it. As we drove by, his dog was outside and she said "Awwww! Look at his dog mom." We then drove by the beach and looked at all the big fancy houses lined up along the ocean. We had the best hour that morning.
Then I took her to school, she gave me a big hug and told me she loved me and would see me later.
Oh! how I miss that.
Deb, you will never forget the precious times you have had with  your boys. I think that's what actually keeps us going.

Love,
Cathy

Donny was always the prankster.  One morning I was leaving to go to work in my uniform as I was a Police Officer.  I went into our garage and started up my Bronco.  Put it in reverse but it didn't move.  Hmmm.  Put it in drive and it still didn't move.  Oh darn it must be the transmission.  Put it in reverse one more time and noticed that the rear wheels were rotating but not touching the ground.

Donny had jacked up all 4 wheels just enough to be off the ground and put floor stands under it.  I was really mad by now.  Wife had to bring me to work in her little Escort and being a big man that was not an easy fit.

Just after arriving in my office my phone rang.  "Hey Paw what's new any trouble getting to work this morning".  I had to laugh even as upset as I was.

Oh how I miss these kind of things.....

Hey Don! Oh what a wonderful memory. The things our kids would do and think so funny at the time while we would be thinking "Oh yeah! You think that's funny huh?" :)
It reminds me another memory.........Andrea's dad and I went out one evening to walk the two saint bernard sisters. I just knew that I was going to hold both the leashes and walk them together. Andrea kept saying "So you think you're hercules huh"?
Well, as I'm trying to be "hurcules" a boy came from behind us and startled the girls. They proceeded to "take off" running literally dragging me behind them until I landed on my butt.
When we got home her daddy told her what happened. The next morning when I woke up Andrea had notes all over the house. "I TOLD YOU SO!"
There was a note in my bathroom, inside the cabinet where I always got my coffee cup, inside the microwave, on the front door and even the car.
We laughed at that one for days.

what great memories you all have shared, thank you they sure put smiles on my face and I feel like I know each and everyone of your kids and I said to myself yup I can see that about him or her lol.

I did get a memory back today when all my papers I was sorting through flew off the desk. Chad's were freshmens and disliked taking tests, they always played tricks on this teacher and her desk was right next to the window. At end of the hour all tests were on the end of her desk and one Chad went up and said he was hot and moved the fan by the papers as the other Chad went and opened the window as other Chad turned on the fan, needless to say all the test papers went out the window.

They drove this teacher crazy many times, but she loved them both dearly. Didn't care for their grades much but loved them.

Our kids were corkers thats for sure and Don OMG I would have been soooo ticked on that one Donny pulled too, but lol it is a great memory, they all are.

Love
Deb

I enjoyed your stories so very much.  One day my husband came back from the grocery store with packages and packages of toilet paper.  Jason looked at him and said:  Dad, do you know something we don't know?  We just laffed and laffed.  Thank you Deb.  This is a great idea.  I will share more when I am not soooooooooooooo tired.

Ok, I have another one for all of you . . . I thrive on my memories of my little ding-dong Landon!

My daughter Lyndsay was going to homecoming one year (think she was in the 11th grade) and came home from a tanning session (first time spray-on tan) that, when she got home, we noticed (eeek) it was a bit "dark" but she was told it should lighten-up by morning once she took her shower.  Along came morning . . .

I was getting ready for work and had just dished the boys up some cereal at the dining room table when Lyndsay, who'd just gotten out of the shower, began walking up the stairs to where we all were sitting.  Landon, who had been studying Martin Luther King all week long, glanced down at Lyndsay as she walked up the stairs.  The look on his face was priceless . . . unfortunately, Lyndsay had mis-calculated the "spray-on" tan potency and was much darker than she'd been the night before (which I don't think she knew).  As she came up the stairs, Landon stated without the slightest hesitation (and I think he honestly believed this), "LYNDSAY !!!  If Martin Luther King hadn't been born,  you'd have to sit at the BACK OF THE BUS !!!"

Priceless . . . that was and is my Landon . . . NEVER a dull moment !!!

Good night all and saying a prayer for all of us and our loved ones tonite . . . good nite sweet Landon, we miss you sooooo much !!

Here's a pic of my boys . . .Landon of course being the 1st one to be covered up in the hole!!!

Not funny, but a really good memory........

When our daughter, Mel, was in high school, she became involved in many causes and charities.  One fall, her school was holding a coat drive, and she asked if she could donate some of our old coats.  She went out of the house the next day with a huge bag of usable coats.

The next spring, I went to the closet for my light jacket and found nothing but the belt.  When I went through the closet, I found that she had given away almost every coat but the ones we had all been wearing for the winter!!!

Her big heart makes me smile to this day.
