Poem from my son
« on: May 23, 2007, 08:19:54 PM »
My son, age 33, died in a car accident on 2/12/07.  We were so very close, I was a single Mom and we grew up together.  I screwed up a lot along the way.  When I went through the things in his house I found this poem he had written somewhere between 12/16/06 and the day he died (I know that because it was written on an envelope postmaked 12/16/06.  It must have been written around Christmas time, but he never gave it to me.  I look at this poem every day

The Lady In The Mirror

The lady in the mirror from small town Galion, OhioShe knew it wasn't her place
so armed with her stuborn attitude
and her children in tow
it was time to make a life in the big city

The lady in the mirror
What do you see when you look in the mirror?

I want to take this time to thank you you for your sacrifice and hard work
Raising me and Angie
I know it wasn't easy
But nothing that is truly good in this life comes easy, as you know

In this time of Christ's birth I would like to thank Christ for you

Look in the mirror and smile
You earned it

What a beautiful gift.  I'm sorry he wasn't able to give it to you in person but he did make sure you found it. I would frame it so it would never get damaged and I could see it everyday.

Love,
Jeanne
