Away From Home
« on: December 04, 2006, 03:21:59 PM »
Hi, everyone,

I am on my cruise to Mexico. We left Sunday. So far so good, just a few very sad moments, but I am trying to keep busy and shut off my thinker. I always miss Tammie and always will but I jus need a break from the grief for a few days.

Thinking of all of you,
Dottie Tammie's Mom

Sounds like a good idea to me....

I need to get me a lap top...they come in handy, don't they.

Wish I were with you, really would like to get away already.   Safe sailing!   Love & Hugs  Valerie (Kyle's Mom)

Dottie,  I'm glad that you are finding some relief on your cruise.  We went on our first cruise in July as an escape from it all and found that it was the best time we'd had since Adam passed last winter.  I actually was able to laugh at shows and look forward to each day as we pulled into a new port.  It was such a wonderful relief that we went on another one and dragged my parents with us in September.  They also said that it took away some of the pain at least for a few days.  I think it's that there are so many things you can take advantage of or if you need some calm time for reflection you can usually find a quiet place and gaze out over the sea or at a lovely sunset.  Of course there were fleeting moments of sadness, but there were also so many moments of relief for us.  We plan to go on another soon as we live 10 minutes from Port Canaveral.
