Tattoo For My Son
« on: January 28, 2007, 08:57:53 AM »
Donny had always told me to get a tattoo of the New England Patriots on my arm as he had his team the 49ers on his arm.  Always told him I would never get a tattoo.

Well, his birthday was January 23 and I finally got a tattoo.  Not of the Patriots but in his memory.

By the way it did not hurt at all.  Of course I do have meaty arms.  I feel very good that I did it for him.

Dear Don.....

A wonderful tribute to your precious son.

I got a tattoo on Matt's birthday, too.....a butterfly heart with the initial M in the middle of the heart.  My daughter got one also...the same day.

Seemed so appropriate, as Matt had several and he'd love it that his mama and sister honored him this way......

I don't post often, but send my love and hopes for us all to find comfort and peace.....

Don,

Very very nice.  I got a tattoo a couple months after Christian died.  It is an orange rose (orange was christian's favorite color) a red heart with his initials in it and tear drops.

That is the tattoo - a little blurry it is on my ankle.  I have another large one on my back.  Need some help taking a picture of that.

How we wish they were here.

LOVE AND GRACE ON THE JOURNEY,
PAULA

Don,

I LOVE THE TATTOOO !!!! I bet Donny is just smiling at you loving what you did in his Memory.

I am still thinking about it too, just haven't done it yet. Maybe for Tammie's birthday this year. I want a small angel on my ankle as Tammie had an Angel on her left side of her upper Tummy, it was really cute.

Oh Don - I love it!  It looks like it hurt physically and emotionally.  I hope it brings you some peace.

Hugs!

Very nice tattoo, I'm sure Donny appreciates it too.

I got a tattoo of Sara's name after she passed, and her birthday is this wednesday so I was planning on getting some flowers around her name. She always wanted to have a tattoo, but never could because of her illness. So like you, I did it for her!

I love your tattoo Don.

I think I told you that I got one for Micheal not long after he died, but I have been thinking of getting a small one for every milestone he would have come to if he had lived... his 25th birthday, his 30th birthday... his 40th birthday, unless I am fortunate enough to be with him by then.

I hope your tattoo gives you the same "comfort" that mine gives me.

Love and hugs,
Johanna, Micheal's mom

Hi Don,

How are you doing?  After Cory died, my husband and I talked about getting a tattoo in his memory.  Haven't done it yet, but it's in my future.  I think yours is wonderful.  Like you and Donny, Cory is in my heart and mind every single day.  I still haven't accepted that he's gone and can't believe it's over a year since he left me.  He has been sending me signs by placing deer in my life.  We used to play a game of who can see the first deer on our trips back and forth from Florida to Milwaukee.  The last trip we took we still looked for the deer.  Now he puts them right in my mothers back yard.  I've never seen deer here in all my years.  Now I've seen them a few times.  Usually there are 3 or more.

I think of you often and wonder how you're doing.

Jo

I myself have a few tattoos and got one for Scott shortly after this death.  Of course the top reads "In Memory of Scott"  under that a Celtic Cross with endless knot scroll work and then under that something I use to always say to my boys "Nothin' but Love for ya, Baby!"  I got this starting at the back of my neck and onto my back some,  I already had a Tat on my neck saying "Rage" because I bypassed anger a long time ago.  Shortly after Scott was killed, my 15 year old nephew was killed so under Scott's is now "In Memory of Jesse".  I'd like to put below it a flag, half Mexican and half Scottish, since he was both.  My back is looking like an obituary so loved must stop dying.  Unfortunately the jerk screwed up my Tat some, don't go to "Body Magic" in Grand Junction, CO.  So last year I put another Celtic Cross on my upper right arm with In Memory of Scott, wouldn't you know it, they put a Star of David in it instead of a pentagram so this one's screwed up too.  What is wrong with my luck?
Love your tribute!  Ink is always a good feeling, different kind of pain and some areas don't hurt at all.  The back of the neck is good.
