Sibling Loss / Re: Finally claimed my loss

While I was reading your story it was like reading my story, except I lost my sister 4 years ago, but I had to take care of my mom because she went down hill.  I will never say I know how you feel because everyone feels differently, but I understand what you are going through and what you had to deal with.  I am fianally starting to deal with my grief as well because I can finally take that mask off and get help.  Keep getting help and try not to push things aside, I know it's hard it's a daily struggle for me.  Hope to talk to you soon.  Lots of hugs and loves

Sibling Loss / I do love her

I lost my older sister in a car accident 4 years ago.  I miss her so much, and I am ver sorry that the last time I saw her I did't say "I love you."  We never got along growing up, but the last time she came down to visit, we had a lot of fun, I used to always so "I love you" to her everytime we would say goodbye, but she never said it back, so this time I guess I figured she wouldn't say it back, so theres no pint in saying it.  This has been tugging at me since the day we got the call, why didn't I just say it to her.  I don't really have dought that she knew I loved her, but just the fact that I didn't say it bothers me.  I say it to all my friends and family everytime we leave eachother and I try and say more than once a day to people.  That saying that you never know what you got untill it's gone is so true, because growing up we faught all the time and I hated it when she was home cuz she got all the attention, but now I would give anything to have her back, even to fight with her again, and for her to hog the attention would be fine!  Thank you for listening to me, it's not often that you can talk so openly about the death of our loved ones and have people truely understand.

I kind of know how you feel.  I am not engaged though, I am only 19 but I lost my sister 4 years ago, and I often think, she was supposed to be there with me and that I wonder if she would be married now.  It really sucks to have to do things like get married, or graduate or things huge like that and not have your sister with you.  Ya know growing up you always think, oh she'll be with you through all that, and then shes not.  I'm excited that for you getting married, and I'm sorry your sister won't be there, but remember shes looking down on you.  I have a friend that lost he mom and when she was growing up her mom always told her that when she would find a dime on the ground that it was an angel watching over her, and she said after her mom passed away she finds dimes all the time, and feels like it's her mom reminding her that she is watching over her.  After my friend told me that I started to find dimes at random times too, like after I graduated I was cleaning out my binder and I turned it upside down to make sure I got everything, and the only thing that fell out was a dime, it was cool cuz, I was bummed that I had to graduate and my sister wasn't there to see it, and I was missing my friends from school, but that was one of those moments that I found a dime and it was my sister telling me, hey you, I was at graduation in the front row cheering for you!  So look for those dimes!  Let me know if you find any!  Have fun on your wedding day, I'm sure you will look like a princess!

WOW!  You are an amazing woman.  I lost my sister who was 7 years older than me in a car accident four years ago, so we have a little in common, but you are obviously older than me.  But that doesn't make it any easier.  Just to let you know, I'm sure you know but it never fully goes away, but I promise it gets a little easier.  But it's still hard for me, don't let oyurself not grieve though, because it will be harder in the long run, I took car of my mom and thought that I was fine for about two years and it is harder for me now to deal with some of the stuff.  I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but I haven't even met you and I can tell that you are an amazing person, and you have many jewels in hevan waiting for you, for all the wonderful things you have done.  Thank you for sharing your story.

I am new to this too, I was actually looking for quotes for a class that I am in and this site popped up, it must have been for a reason, because I lost my older sister 4 years ago in a car accident.  She was 7 years older than me, I remember the first hollidays and birthday that she was gone and it was hard.  The hollidays are still hard, the pain never goes away, but I thik it subsides a little.  I'm sorry that you had to lose you baby sister.

I lost my sister 4 years ago in a car accident, and it is hard to lose a sister.  She was much older than me though.  I know what you mean when you say you felt invisible and that you can't talk to your parents about it because it is so hard for them.  Everytime my mom sayd anything about her she gets teary-eyed.  When it first happend I lived with my mom and had to be strong for her and then I moved out two years ago and I think it's harder for me now because I can finally deal with it.  I'm sorry for your loss and hope you can get some help.
