Main / New here, missing my husband terribly.

Hi, My name is Nova and I stumbled upon this site while trying to find an "insta-cure" for whatever is going on with my broken heart.
My hubby passed away about a year and a half ago, of cancer. He was ill for more then a year, all the while receiving chemo treatments that they told him would only extend his life. He always had horrible reactions to the infusions and would end up hospitalized, sometimes in ICU due to the side effects. My son was 15 at the time and I can't say how many times he picked his dad up from the floor where he had passed out. It was heart breaking to watch both of them.
I kept very busy for the first year after he died, then suddenly woke up in the middle of the night and it hit me that he was actually gone and not coming home. (Guess I tricked my mind into thinking that he was working out of the Country or something?) :-\
I'm now attending Bereavement classes that are given by Hospice, but can't say that they are helping, at least "yet", but I'll keep going to give it a chance.
Just wondering how your experiences went as far as "time" for grieving goes. I guess I'm a late bloomer maybe, waiting this long to nearly collapse of a broken heart. I miss him SO very much. :'(
God Bless you all for your losses and thank you for being here.
