I am sure this is very simple. But I've tried everything I can think of. Guess I just don't know enough about this stuff.

Hi Helene,
I'm waiting for the address of the pictures. As soon as I receive them, we'll get them posted.
I see what you're trying to do now, and it's two separate things. For the avatar pic of you and Lesley, that address has to go on the line that says, "I have my own pic" and if you want a picture posted just one time, use the url tab when you post. If you want a picture to 'stay' on every post (for example, at the bottom) then that address has to go in the signature box (in your profile under, Forum Profile Information).
Send the addresses here on the board by PM and I'll check for it later!

I've tried inputting information in both places and nothing works. I just don't get it. I don't have enough experience. Behind the times I guess. Thanks for trying to help and hope you're feeling better.

I posted the address for your Dad on my signature line in my profile and he's happy to be here! But, I first had to reformat it to a JPG file. The picture of you and Lesley, I did the same and I've resized/cropped it (as avatar pics have to be SO small) at least four times now and she still will not show up, as you can see.
Still trying.

Ok, we've got it!! Finally.
I'll send you the addresses. The first address goes on the line that says,"I have my own pic" and be sure to highlight the circle before it.
The second address goes on the Signature line and you can also write anything you would like to, next to it. As an example, I wrote, My Dad.
And, trust me, Helene it wasn't YOU!!! I had to modify both addresses and that's only the second time I had to do such a thing with pictures from Photobucket. None of the image codes were accepted. And, the size for the avatar ended up being 41 X 41, in case you ever want to post a different avatar down the road at some point.

I know the photo of myself and Lesley is very small. I tried to switch it around with the one of my Dad, but that didn't work so I am leaving well enough alone.

Gosh, it worked!! Now everyone will get tired of seeing these photos. Perhaps I'll periodically change them if I can become more technically clued in. (That'll be the day....!)

Helene, I will send you the address for a larger pic of you and Lesley. I placed it as an avatar because I saw it was what you were trying to do, but you can change that, anytime. I'll resize your Dad's picture if you like. Just message me and let me know how you want them arranged. It's never a problem! :) And, you're very welcome!

Thank you so much Terry! Ideally if my Dad's photo could be a tad smaller and the one of Lesley and I bigger that would be great. They can stay in the same place as they are now.
I feel bad that I am being a huge BOTHER with this to you, especially when you are recovering from being in the hospital!! Please consider this at the total bottom of your list of 'to dos' or, don't do it at all. I really feel guilty at taking so much of your time and energy!

Hi Helene,
I sent you the addresses in a PM. Place this one of you and Lesley in your signature line, if you want it on the bottom of all of your posts. If you want both pictures [and] side by side, as shown, just separate the addresses with a comma.
Go to Photobucket and open an account. It's free and just takes a second so when you find other pictures and would like to post them, you can do so quickly. Also, you will have many options: resizing, cropping, blending, etc. and you will be able to resize these pictures posted, also.
Hope you're doing better. I've thought about you this weekend.

Hey you!
I thought it would be easier for you to read the codes in an email, so check your mail, you may have already. This picture of you and Lesley worked well. You placed the address in your Signature line. Now, if you want to use your Dad's picture as an avatar or you and Lesley, as an avatar, I have already given you the codes for that. The size is 41 x 41 for the avatar.
If you are having a problem just contact me and I'll help you. Ok?

Sometimes when you get the code off of Photobucket (it will look slightly different as there are three boxes of codes to choose from--choose image code) and then place it on the appropriate line, try to knock off a url on each end to see what happens. A lot of the time, there are two, when we only need one on each end.

With your Dad's picture, since you're using it as an avatar, resize it to around 41 x 41. You can play with that a little, maybe 50 x 50. You will have to resize it first, making it much smaller before you crop it or it will look out of sorts, if not.
