hi all !!

I'm Bev and live in Maine......took my Mother to the ER on Nov 22nd.....she was diagnosed with cancer.......died 16 days later at a local Hospice House. She was a vital, active woman that was a big part of my life........this is an extremly differcult time........my Dad died of a sudden/massive heart attack when I was 10 yrs old in 1967, leaving my Mom with 4 of the 5 kids to care for....youngest not yet a yr eldest in 8th grade. She was a fun loving woman that always enjoyed the simple things and never complained. I am the middle child, my next younger brother is having a very hard time, spending alot of time with my Hubby and I, he had been our Mother's constant companion for the last 15 yrs.

I apprediate this place and hope to find comfort here!!

Hi Bev,  Welcome, though I am sorry you had to seek out the forum!  The loss of our parents is something which is devastating no matter how old we are.  Your brother and I are in similar situations, I too was my Mothers constant companion in the last 10 years of her life and while it often does seem that I did grieve more than my siblings, they had families of their own and perhaps couldn't openly grieve as could I. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, its wonderful that you are being so supportive of your brother!

Hello Bev,
I am new here also.
I am sorry for your loss.
I hope you have been able to find some comfort.
Had a similar loss with my Mom last September.
We knew she was not doing well, took her to the ER, she was in the hospital for a week, moved to a nursing home where she died 3 days later.
I knew she was terminal and was able to say goodbye.
