One of my deerest friends for over 10 years had a massive stroke on Labor Day morning. 6 days ago she was brought home and hospice was called in. She has laid for those 6 days without food or water, only pain meds and this is so hard to watch. She is like a sister to me and I have a big hole in my heart.

Dear Lee1954 ~ I am so sorry to read about your friend...I know this must be very hard for you.

You have come to the right place, there are lots of people who care here.

Take care of yourself.

So sorry to hear of how you are having to watch your best friend last days on Earth.  I know how hard this is because I had to watch and help my husband die this way.  It is extremely hurtful to watch and feel helpless to stop it.

I was told the hearing is the last sense to go, so continue talking to her, and touching her.  Use this time to tell her all she has meant to you and thank her for it.  It will help you a little bit after she is gone.

I will pray that she will not have to stay in this condition for long and that you will have some comfort.

Peace and Healing,

mousewife
