My name is KatieG - I live in the South and have been married for 20 years to a wonderful man and we have a 15 year old son who is just super.

I have spent some time reading here before joining, and I am so touched with the love and support those of you already here have been sharing with each other.  I hope to be able to do the same for anyone I can, especially those who may be in a similar situation as I.

I lost my 49 yr old mother in 1974 to breast cancer (I was 9) and later lost my 13 year old brother in 1982 to health complications (heart and respiratory failure) resulting from Down Syndrome (I was 17).   I also had a miscarriage in 1995, early stage but still I have experienced the sense of loss brought from an empty womb once promising new life.  It is always hardest at this time of year because it happened the week before Christmas and we were saving the news as a Christmas present to the family.

I will put my memories and thoughts together and post in the appropriate place soon.  I am a born again Christian and firmly believe I will see them all again once I am in my Heavenly Father's arms.

Take Care,
KatieG

Katie,

I'd like to welcome you to Web Healing. I'm very sorry for your losses and I really appreciate your sharing. I know how difficult that can be at times.

Regardless of the length of time it has been....we always miss ones we have loved and that have passed.

I am from the Child Loss Board and came here 6 years ago when my only surviving child, my son Jeff, died. I have found so much comfort from all of the wonderful, caring people on these Boards and I hope you will, too.

There is a 'Sibling Board' also, that you may want to, or may already have visited.

Thank You for introducing yourself and again, I am so sorry for your losses.

Sending you a Cyber Hug (((((((Katie)))))))

Love,
Terry

Hi Katie,
So sorry for all that you have been through. I lost my husband and my mother this year, and Terry is right, it doesnt matter how long ago the loss was, it still hurts the same. I am glad you found us, sorry for the reasons though.

When you feel comfortable enough to post, I am usually on the main board, hope to talk with you.

Georgia.
