Is this board still active?

My name is Wayne, and I live in Maryland and work in DC.

2008 was a rough year for me.  My twin brother has been fighting severe depression.  My sister attempted suicide the weekend after Labor Day. Then my 92-year-old mother passed on 10/15 while I was in the room with her.

I started having trouble sleeping shortly after my mom passed.  I went through a variety of meds, all that worked at first, then tapered off.

I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux Disease in early December, which has seriously changed how I do things.

on New Year's Day, I talked with a good friend on the phone, but when I stood up, my head and my lower legs were warm.  Iwas unable to sleep that night, so I went to the nearby hospital.  They tested head and heart, and all was well, so they sent me home.

But I was also scheduled for the first of three surgeries on my eyes.  I had the first one on this past Wednesday.

I've been having trouble sleeping, so I went to a psychiatrist on Friday.  She prescribed Lunesta to replace the Ambien CR I had ben taking and usually sleeping only 4 hours.  The Lunesta was much worse, and I only got one hour of sleep.  On the advice of my doctor, I doubled the dose of Lunesta the next night.  I got 1-1/2 hours of sleep that night.  I went to the hospital, and they tried Atavan with me, made me sleepy, then gave me a shot of Benadryl, which did help me sleep for about 6 hours.  I came home and slept a few hours more.

Tonight I've also felt anxious, but I'm taking steps to improve that.

Dear Wayne, yes this board is active and so very sorry for you.

So sorry for your troubles sleeping as well as your grief and anxiety. Many of us here can relate. When you arrive at webhealing.com go to forums then post on the Main board where more people communicate. If you need anything at all just ask.
Welcome, as many say here, to the site we wish you didn't need. But you have found good people here, who care about your grief. One breath at a time... Terri

Welcome Wayne to Web Healing,

I'm sorry to hear of your pain and struggling as you are.  I can certainly understand why. You really do have a lot on your plate.

I'm also sorry that you lost your Momma. So very sorry. I lost my Momma back in '77 and I miss her so much and always will.

I'm sure you will find comfort here and much understanding. There are different message boards here and after visiting, you will find where you are most comfortable as many others will relate to your pain and sorrow.

Thanks for sharing and so sorry you have a need to be here, but so glad you found us.

Love,
Terry

Hi Wayne,
so sorry that youor going through this. I have alot of anxiety problems so I can relate, and yes they usually hits when you go to bed. The thing that has helped me alot is excersize and I know that your probably not in the mood for that  but believe me it helps. Hope you feel better, and hope to talk with you soon.

Georgia.
