Hello to all new folks:

This forum, the introductions board has recently been changed to a read only board.  The reason for this was that we found that sometimes new people would post here and not realize that the four other forums were where most of the action takes place.  We are hoping to use this board as a starting place for people to find out more about the site and to help decide which board is best for them.   Child loss board is for parents who have experienced the death of their children.  The siblings board is specifically for those who have experienced the death of one of their siblings. The main board is for other death related grief including widowhood and other important deaths.  The Non-Death Grief Board is for grief unrelated to deaths such as loss of a job, loss of identity and many other losses.

Here's the original message:

Welcome to Crisis, Grief and Healing  sponsored by Tom Golden, LCSW. We are so very, very sorry for the loss you have experienced and we want you to know  that you are always welcome here with us. We are sorry that you have to be here  but you are not alone in your grief and loss. We have all lost loved ones so thank you for coming and being with us and we hope you will stay and find the support that is available here.  There is no right way or wrong way to grieve and all that we feel is normal and we all grieve at our own pace. Here you will find others who are going through much of what you are experiencing and much of what you will experience in the days and weeks to come. It is very important to take good care of yourself and we encourage you to join a grief group if one is available in your community. Many of us have also obtained assistance in the form of counseling and from our Doctors as well so do not hesitate to explore these resources. We encourage you to stay in contact with as many family members and close friends as possible and please feel free and most welcome to share with the group what you are going through. It really helps to write and unburden and we are glad you have found us but we are so very sorry you have to be here.

This forum is a number of different sub-forums.  There is a forum for the death of a child, a forum for the death of a sibling and a main forum for most other deaths.  We encourage people to use the forum that comes closest to their own individual experience.  We have found that it is a great help for people to interact with others who have experienced a similar loss and that is why we have these different sub-forums.

Feel free to post an introduction here on this board or if you are comfortable you can go directly to one of the sub-forums and post an introduction there.  We have several moderators and a number of greeter who are always happy to help out if you have a question.  You can see the greeters by the in their posts.  You can post a question to them or the mods or send a pm.  We want you to feel comfortable here and the best way to do that is to get to know the lay of the land so feel free to ask questions or better yet just jump right in.

Thank you.
