Hello all,

I lost my mama, my bestfriend to colon cancer September 12, 2007 at age 66. Her name was Charlene. She was diagnosed with colon cancer March, 2007. After finally deciding to go through with chemo treatments, after receiving her 1st treatment in June of 2007, the treatment made her very ill, and she had to be hospitalized.  She was hospitalized on the oncology floor for 4 wks & was moved to hospice where she stayed 5 wks until her passing.

It is so hard being here without her. She was my best friend. I am a 41 year old female. I have a younger brother who is 35 years old. My dad, whom I was also very close to, passed away July 20, 1997 at age 55 after being diagnosed with lung cancer in May, 1997. I was a caregiver for both of my parents.

It is so difficult some days (some more than others) for me. I am trying to go on like I know they both would want me to, but it is so hard sometimes.

Please pray for me as I will for you...

Hello Msjayb,

First let me say I am so sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know that right now you think that you are all alone, but I want you to know that your Mother is watching over you, and so is your Father. They are both no longer in pain and are at peace.

They both want you to rejoice, that they no longer suffer, that they are together, and want you to live your live to the fullest!!!! Life goes on even when we don't want it to, everything continues just as it always has, and so should you.

Keep your Mother's memories close to your heart because there is where she lives!!!! as long as you have her memories , those memories will keep you warm on a cold winter's night, will make you laugh when you remember her jokes, and will make you smile when you think of how she held you close. Just hold on to these memories to get you through.

"LIFE IS NOT MEASURED BY THE NUMBER OF BREATHS WE TAKE, BUT BY THE MOMENTS THAT TAKE OUR BREATHS AWAY"

Keep comimg back to the main board to post we are here for you. We have all been there, and some of us are still going through it.
