(Off Topic) I Started A Blog!!!

Hi Everyone: I can't believe it! I started a blog, and I put music to go along with the thoughts, much like my radio program, Love Notes, used to be. I'm not putting ads on it, so this is not for promotion-it's just for my personal space to get some thoughts out. I'll be posting every day with something new. You know how I enjoy writing so much. If you'd like to follow it, here's the URL:

Let me know if you read it, and post some comments if you'd like.

((((((((Lonnie)))))))) I'm still crying as I too help my Mom in her Senior years, When my Husband died in April and before my sons left the state to their homes and families, they moved my Mom in with me, we have been struggling to adjust to our losses, hers her freedom, and me my husband and somewhat my freedom, due to her continuing declining health.
Watching My Mother Slip Away- was my favorite. I am having trouble dealing with her memory loss, at times I could just scream at her , No mother, I just told you what or who or when or whatever. She has very little recall or memory retention, I know the process, I worked in a nursing Home for 15 yrs and I know she cannot help it.
We made it through the Holiday better than I thought.
Thanks for the blog, it really helped a lot.
As for Kelly Pickler, wow she's hurting and that song is great.
Lonnie God has given you a gift and thanks for sharing yourself with others. I dont know where I would be today if God had not lead me to this site back in the beginning of my journey.
Thanks again for the post and the blog

AMI: It took me a lot of courage to decide to share my most intimate thoughts, but I hope that others can find themselves in some of the things I share. I am so excited that you took time to read it, and I'll be posting something everyday. Hope you'll look at it again!
You are so right, when there is death, sickness, and aging, we all lose so much! Freedom, Comfort, Security, Privacy... Between raising my adopted daughter from age 3 to now (almost 19), to caring for my mom since the death of my dad 2 1/2 years ago, I often wonder where I'll ever find a chance to just be me before it's all over. For me, the older I get, the less I like change, and change is inevitable unfortunately. Taking care of an aging parent is very frustrating at times, and such an honor at others. I tend to worry far too much, and hold myself responsible for everything that happens, when I have no control over most of it. (She fell 3 times last week, and didn't tell me for a few days.)
I know the memory loss problems you speak of can be so trying as well, and so very sad. My mom has not officially been diagnosed with Alzheimers, but she definitely is having problems. I worry about how that will progress. But in the end, I have to give it all to God, as I cannot endure any of it without His strength.
I know you must miss your husband so very much, and adjusting to having your mom live there has got to be a challenge. I'm sending you prayers for continued strength and peace. Thanks so much for your wonderful comments! Hugs-Lonnie

Love it Love it Love it!! What a moving story of your life. I'm such a cry baby. I love that last song "Place in this World". I haven't heard it in such a long time, but it reminds me of my brother because he was always looking for "how he was suppose to be" or "what he was suppose to be doing with life" and nasty wives and battles of seeing his kids got in the way and God rescued him. I am like you in a way where life touches me thru music. I can't sing worth a hoot though
. Good job!!

(((Lonnie)))
I have so enjoyed reading your blog. I started from today and read...had to laugh to myself when reading your lonely or alone. I felt we had so much in common...we both have had difficulty relating to other women. I've always felt more comfortable talking with men...I don't care much for the small talk...not good at it...I always thought maybe it was because I was raised with older brothers.
Anyway, I enjoyed reading and I look forward to another day. Hope you are feeling better...I do believe we have to listen to our bodies.

Lonnie,
I got on your blog and read a few. Didn't have a lot of time to read all of them. You are such an inspiration. I kind of look at you as my cyber mom. You always know the right things to say and you always make me feel better. Wish I could meet you in person and just give you a big hug. I hope you are feeling better. My mom was real sick too. On Tuesday her boss called an ambulance for her she thought she was having a heartattack (talk about a scare I thought last thanksgiving was going to be the last with both my parents). Turned out she had inflamation in her chest wall. She just started feeling a little bit better yesterday.
Lots of hugs,
Renee

Thanks everyone so much for reading the blog. I am having so much fun writing it, and last night I put some funny thoughts on there about housework. (I hate it...but I love a clean house.) I am like the little girl in the video I chose-I just want to run away from it! (But her house was really clean.) LOL!
I never knew that blogging could be so much fun. I used to have a Christian radio show called "Love Notes" where I would teach, and then play songs that went along with the teachings, so that's where I got that idea, as well as a good friend of mine, Linda, from the Child Loss Board, blogs that way also.
I appreciate your kind words, and I hope that it will bring some joy (and sometimes tears) to your day.
I love all of you so much! Lonnie

Lonnie,
Found your blog and enjoyed it. You are a very good writer and like me, enjoy music to go along with your feelings.
I just posted such a positive post earlier but I have to admit, whenever I listen to Kelly Pickler's song, I do get choked up and hurt for her pain and her loss. I have listened to that song over and over again for the past yr, pretending it is me singing to my mother.
Michael W Smith is one of my favorites and have been to many of his concerts, as well as he has come to our church on several occasions. His song "Place in this world" used to also be my own person theme song (I have many).
Thanks for sharing your blog with us

Thanks for the sweet words, Lauren. It's so good to hear from you. Sounds like you are really finding healing these days. Are you still going to counseling? Is it helping? It's just great to hear from you again, and good to know that things are better for you. Hugs-Lonnie
