Healing After Loss by Martha Whitmore Hickman.  Daily Meditations for Working Through Grief.

I found this book the easiest for me.  When I first started this journey I couldn't concentrate on anything and found reading very difficult, I would lose focus almost immediately.  This book is just a page a day, some days are perfect.  I still read it after 3 years.

Hugs to all
Love
Judy

I also have this book and found it particularly helpful in the early days after Micheal died.

Good start Judy!

Judy,

A friend gave me this book and I also found it very helpful.  You are so right early on it is very hard to concentrate.

Yes, friends, I too was only able to read a page or a paragraph in the beginning.  Today, I don't read everday but somedays I pick it up and find the date and see what the reading is.  Again, another worthwhile book.

I still have the book, itīs worn from all the years.  I donīt read everydya but still check it out once in a while.   I have a couple favorite pasages that are so perfect, the truth in them really strikes a chord for me, those I read often.
Itīs a very good book and helped and continues to help as my perspective changes.  Make sure you get this book.  Patty

This book by Martha Whitmore Hickman is helping me a lot. I have found reading and writing are both helping me, so thanks for the recommendation. I am also reading tons of poetry. Hope others read this book, it is well worth buying it. Terri

Just moving this book to the top of the list as it is affordable and just plain helpful. I gave out a few copies and I have worn out my copy. I cannot recommend this great little book enough. I gave one to my doctor and he said it was excellent. Check it out.
